Tayanna admitted that she had gone through a difficult personal crisis and was on the brink of life and death
Well-known Ukrainian singer Tayanna spoke candidly about the profound personal crisis she had to go through. According to her, for some time she was in a very serious condition and was on the brink of life and death.
“I thought I was going to die. I mean, I didn’t want anything. I went to a psychologist, and she said, ‘I’m praying to God that I can help you—you’re in a very serious condition.’ And I was really actively… cold water, breathing exercises—five times a day. I ran every morning, you know, to get my body working with the hormones,” Tayanna said.
The singer noted that during this difficult period, to cope with despair and helplessness, she began writing songs.
"I was so disappointed with life in general. I’d say, ‘What good are these songs to me? Like, what’s the point of this whole life anyway? I’m sitting here in Chernivtsi, just wasting away. I’ve worked for over 30 years, and now I have to suffer,’” the artist added, barely holding back her tears.

Incidentally, Tayanna has repeatedly tried to represent Ukraine at Eurovision, but to no avail. Her attempt in 2018 ended in a massive scandal involving judge Andriy Danilko, who suspected she was using a backing track. To set the record straight, he asked the sound engineers to play the backing track for the contest song “Lelya” and suggested that Tayanna sing a portion of it live right there during the discussion. The singer agreed without hesitation and performed the excerpt flawlessly, proving her professionalism.
However, the incident infuriated the artist’s manager, who publicly lashed out at Andriy Danylko with accusations, to which he responded with profanity on live television. In the end, Tayanna still failed to make it onto the international stage.
