In the Kherson region, 3,000 metric tons of watermelons have already been harvested
Farmers in the Kherson region have already harvested 3,000 metric tons of watermelons. In total, the region expects to harvest about 25,000 metric tons of melons this year.
This was reported by Oleksandr Prokudin, head of the Kherson Regional State Administration.
According to him, watermelons are being grown this year on an area of about 1,000 hectares. The largest fields are located in the Velykooleksandrivka, Novovorontsov, Muzykovka, Bilozerska, and Kherson communities.
“Work is in full swing in the fields of the Kherson region right now—the watermelon harvest is underway. We’ve already harvested 3,000 metric tons, which people will be able to enjoy in various parts of Ukraine. There’s even more to come. This year, we plan to reach 25,000 metric tons of melon production,” Prokudin noted.
He also thanked the farmers for their work, emphasizing that it is they who make the Kherson watermelon one of the region’s symbols.
