Sunbeth releases sustainability report under IFRS standards
Nigerian agricultural products exporter Sunbeth Global Concepts has presented its first sustainability report for 2025. As Premium Times Nigeria reports, the company voluntarily applied the IFRS S1 and IFRS S2 sustainability disclosure standards issued by the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB).
The report is titled Responsible Sourcing, Pioneering Action. Sunbeth said it became the first agricultural company in Nigeria, in either the public or private sector, to voluntarily apply these standards. They require disclosure of sustainability-related risks and opportunities.
Cocoa traceability
In the report, Sunbeth stated that it conducted polygon mapping of more than 140,000 hectares and 30,000 farmers to ensure traceability ready for the requirements of the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR). The company also reported mitigation measures in 80 cases related to child labour within its monitoring and response programme.

According to the company, more than 6,000 farmers received training and were also provided with 60,000 hybrid cocoa seedlings. Sunbeth also said it became the first Nigerian company to join the International Cocoa Initiative.
Emissions and exports
The company established a Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions baseline of 292.81 tonnes of CO2 equivalent and set a target to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050. According to the report, Sunbeth Global Concepts exported more than 58,000 metric tonnes of cocoa in 2025.
