Fruit Prices in Ukraine on August 14
As of August 14, prices for most fruits and berries in Ukraine remain stable. At the same time, strawberries, sweet cherries, and blueberries are still relatively expensive.
According to data from the “Stolichny” market in Kyiv, current prices are as follows:
- apples — 25–50 UAH/kg;
- bananas — 60–65 UAH/kg;
- oranges — 50–130 UAH/kg;
- lemons — 100–120 UAH/kg;
- strawberries — 140–170 UAH/kg;
- cherries — 100–160 UAH/kg;
- blueberries — 170–210 UAH/kg;
- watermelons — 9–12 UAH/kg;
- melons — 15–23 UAH/kg.
Prices for plums and peaches remain at around 40 UAH/kg. Apricots are selling for 55–80 UAH/kg, and pears for 40–75 UAH/kg.
At the same time, blueberries have become significantly cheaper since the start of the season. Currently, their average price is about 190 UAH/kg, whereas in early July, wholesale batches were selling for 300–350 UAH.
Raspberries, blueberries, and blackberries remain among the most expensive berries—their price ranges from 250 to 350 UAH per kilogram.
Meanwhile, the melon season is in full swing in Ukraine. Watermelons cost 9–12 UAH/kg, and cantaloupes cost about 20 UAH/kg.
What will prices be like going forward?
The cost of imported fruit will largely depend on the hryvnia exchange rate. Apples may gradually become more expensive due to dwindling stocks from last year’s harvest.
At the same time, a good apple harvest is expected, so wholesale prices may drop by 11–20% in January–May 2027.
Apricots may become more expensive after the mass harvest is complete. Raspberries and blueberries, in turn, may remain expensive due to the impact of spring frosts and summer heat on the harvest.
