Current Vegetable Prices in Ukraine on August 5

As of August 5, 2026, prices for cucumbers, tomatoes, and vegetables used in borscht remained stable in Ukraine. Cucumbers cost between 15 and 25 UAH per kilogram, the average price of tomatoes is 35 UAH per kilogram, and a kilogram of carrots costs between 15 and 20 UAH.

At the same time, the market has seen a rise in wholesale prices for new potatoes—over the past week, they have risen by more than 53% and now cost an average of 20 UAH per kilogram, although prices on the wholesale market range from 10 to 28 UAH per kilogram. Cauliflower costs 48–52 UAH per kilogram, eggplants are selling for 20–25 UAH per kilogram, and onions cost between 20 and 25 UAH per kilogram.

Experts predict that throughout the summer season, the average price of vegetables used in borscht will remain 5–15% higher than last year’s levels due to spring frosts, rising production costs, and a reduction in high-quality carryover stocks in storage facilities.

This was reported by Delo.ua.

As of August 5, prices for most fruits and berries in Ukraine remain stable. At the same time, strawberries, sweet cherries, and blueberries remain among the most expensive seasonal berries, according to data from the “Stolichny” market in Kyiv.

As a reminder, most Ukrainian fruit growers expect wholesale prices for apples to decline in the second half of the 2026/2027 season. The reasons cited include an increase in harvest volume, higher logistics costs, and rising production in other countries.
