Britain and the EU have agreed to hold a new summit in July

The United Kingdom and the European Union will hold their second bilateral summit on July 22. British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and European Council President António Costa reached this agreement during a meeting on the sidelines of the G7 summit.

According to Starmer, the government continues to pursue a course of resetting relations with the European Union and strengthening the country’s position in Europe. He noted that cooperation with the EU should promote economic development, create new jobs, and expand opportunities for young people.

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen reported that during talks with Starmer, the parties also discussed the situation in the Middle East and support for Ukraine.

Special attention was paid to strengthening Ukraine’s defense capabilities, supporting the Armed Forces, and preparing the country for the winter.
