As a result of heavy shelling on the night of April 17, the Chernihiv Combined Heat and Power Plant (CHP) suspended operations. Consequently, the hot water supply in the city has been temporarily cut off.

This was reported by the press service of the Chernihiv City Council.

The city council noted that critical infrastructure facilities were deliberately targeted, which affected the stability of their operations.

As of April 17, 2026, the hot water supply to consumers of the municipal enterprise “Teplokomunenergo” has been temporarily suspended.

Emergency crews, technical specialists, and company management are working at the site. They are assessing the extent of the damage and working to restore the system’s operation.

The exact timeline for restoring service has not yet been determined, as a detailed technical assessment is required.

In the Ovruch community of Zhytomyr Oblast, infrastructure facilities were damaged as a result of Russian shelling, and a complete power outage has been reported.

As a reminder, a well-known nature reserve came under fire during a nighttime attack by the Russian Federation on the Odesa region. As a result of the shelling on the night of April 17, a fire broke out on the territory of the Danube Biosphere Reserve.

As a result of the Russian military’s nighttime attack on Kyiv, the number of casualties rose to 62. Four people were killed.

In the Desnianskyi district of Kyiv, law enforcement officers discovered the warhead of a Russian Iskander-K missile. A controlled destruction of the munition is planned at the site.

On the night of April 15, three people were injured in Dnipro and the surrounding region as a result of Russian drone strikes, and damage to civilian infrastructure was reported.
