New draft rules for women have taken effect in Denmark

New rules governing compulsory military service have taken effect in Denmark, providing for equal conscription conditions for men and women, as well as an increase in the basic term of service from 4 to 11 months.

Under the new rules, all citizens of the country undergo a fitness-for-service assessment upon turning 18. The extended program includes 5 months of basic training and 6 months of specialized training or operational service. 

At the same time, the military notes that more than 99% of conscripts enlist voluntarily. Residents of the autonomous region of Greenland are an exception; for them, conscription remains voluntary.

As a reminder, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen signed an agreement on the sidelines of the NATO summit in Ankara to deepen cooperation in the fields of defense and security.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova claimed that Ukrainian hackers and fraudsters are allegedly using Danish territory and Danish IP addresses to carry out cyberattacks against Russia.
