Prokopenko, the head of the regional SBU office, was detained in Khmelnytskyi
Oleksiy Prokopenko, head of the Khmelnytskyi Regional Directorate of the Security Service of Ukraine, was detained in Khmelnytskyi.
According to our sources, a search was conducted at his residence around 6:00 a.m. Subsequently, investigators from the SBU’s Main Directorate for Internal Security and the “Alpha” special forces unit reportedly conducted searches in the official’s office as well. According to sources, approximately 30 officers were involved in the investigative operations.
According to unconfirmed reports, Prokopenko is suspected of systematically receiving illicit benefits. It is alleged that the amount involved exceeds 200,000 U.S. dollars per month.
It is also reported that the deputy head of the SBU, Oleksandr Poklad, has allegedly already signed the notice of suspicion.
As a reminder, a man was detained in Odesa after firing shots at TCC employees.
