The entire U.S. delegation walked out of the negotiations with Iran

The entire U.S. negotiating team, including Vice President J.D. Vance and special envoys, has left Pakistan, leaving behind not even technical experts to continue negotiations with Iran.

CNN reported this, citing a U.S. administration official. The absence of any working group representatives indicates that direct negotiations between the countries will not resume in the near future.

The 71-member Iranian delegation also left the Pakistani capital immediately after the meetings concluded. According to the Iranian news agency Tasnim, the group included nuclear energy experts, diplomats, and intelligence officials. This simultaneous departure of both sides confirms Donald Trump’s statement that there has been no breakthrough on the key nuclear issue.

Although the U.S. and Russia continue to monitor developments in the region, the diplomatic process is currently on hold. The Pakistani side, which acted as a mediator, confirmed that no agreements regarding the next round of meetings have been reached at this time. The parties have returned to their capitals for further consultations amid continued high tensions in the Strait of Hormuz.

Peace talks between the U.S. and Iran, which lasted 21 hours in Islamabad, ended without results.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Bakai stated that significant differences on several strategic issues prevented the conclusion of an agreement with the United States in Islamabad.

U.S. President Donald Trump announced the start of a complete naval blockade of the Strait of Hormuz following the collapse of negotiations over Tehran’s nuclear program. According to the American leader, despite agreement on most issues, the key problem—the development of nuclear weapons—remained unresolved
