Fintech summit in Barcelona: British Fintech Meetup builds European community
Fintech founders, investors, operators, and ecosystem builders from across Europe gathered in Barcelona for a fintech summit organized by the British fintech meetup community together with fintech infrastructure platform Sends as a co-organizer of the event.
Hosted in one of Europe’s fastest-growing startup and innovation hubs, the connects founders, operators, investors, and technology leaders from the UK, Spain, Switzerland, Poland and other european countries. Sends participated as a co-organizer alongside other ecosystem partners supporting the initiative and helping create a platform for new partnerships within the European fintech industry.
Originally launched as a British fintech meetup initiative, the community is now evolving into a broader European platform focused on long-term collaboration between fintech professionals across multiple markets. Throughout the evening, attendees exchanged insights on some of the key trends shaping the industry, including AI in finance, embedded finance, digital banking, payments infrastructure, startup scaling, and international growth opportunities within Europe.
Events like this demonstrate how interconnected the European fintech ecosystem is becoming. Founders and operators increasingly want access to international communities where they can exchange ideas, build partnerships, and scale across borders.
Unlike traditional conferences focused primarily on formal presentations, the Barcelona summit emphasized a more founder-oriented and community-driven format designed to encourage authentic networking and peer-to-peer connections.
It is worth mentioning, that Sends cooperats with the biggest fintech associations in Europe and MENA region to create platforms for fintech technology and AI solutions testings. During the Pay360 conference in March this year Alona Shevtsova participated in discussions on AI in AML and KYC procedures together with Clearbank, Lloyds Bank and others.
Also Sends team participated in Solid26 hackathon by the Open Data Institute (ODI). The team developed Financial Pod project — a prototype concept for a secure, user-owned space where people can bring together their financial data and manage it on their own terms.
