Exchange rates on May 15: The dollar and the euro have fallen in value

On Friday, May 15, the exchange rates for the dollar and the euro fell in Ukraine. Major banks and currency exchange offices simultaneously lowered the rates for these major currencies, making them more affordable for buyers.

This is evidenced by market monitoring data. 

In the foreign exchange market, the dollar continued its gradual decline:

  • at currency exchange offices, the average buying rate is 43.88 UAH;
  • at banks, the average buying rate is about 43.75 UAH;
  • the average selling rate at banks is 44.19 UAH.

The situation at various banks is as follows:

  • in the Oschadbank app, the dollar has dropped to 44.15 UAH;
  • at PrivatBank teller windows — to 44.17 UAH;
  • At Monobank, the rate remains at 44.22 UAH;
  • at PUMB — around 44.30 UAH.

The European currency has lost value by approximately 7–10 kopecks.

  • At currency exchange offices, the euro is bought on average for 51.73 UAH and sold for 51.50 UAH;
  • at banks, the average buying rate is about 51.85 UAH.

At banking institutions:

  • PrivatBank and Oschadbank offer the euro at 51.80 UAH;
  • Monobank maintains the rate at 51.80 UAH;
  • at PUMB, the euro costs about 52 UAH.

Experts note that the lowest prices are found at currency exchange offices:

  • dollar — 43.88 UAH (exchange offices);
  • euro — 51.73 UAH (currency exchange offices).

Among banks, the most favorable offers for buying dollars are found in the PUMB and Oschadbank apps, and for euros — in PrivatBank, Oschadbank, and Monobank.

The National Bank of Ukraine set the official exchange rates for Friday, May 15.

Pyshnyy stated that the amount of cash in circulation in Ukraine has decreased.
