A gas explosion occurred in an apartment in the Kyiv region, causing a fire

An explosion caused by a household gas leak occurred in a residential building in the village of Kalita, Kyiv Oblast, injuring an elderly man.

This was reported by the State Emergency Service of Kyiv Oblast.

The incident occurred on April 12 at 4:15 p.m. in an apartment on the first floor of a four-story building on Molodizhny Lane. The explosion caused a fire, which rescue workers quickly extinguished at 4:33 p.m. While working at the scene, State Emergency Service personnel found the injured homeowner, born in 1951. The man was handed over to medical personnel for treatment.

Currently, experts are determining the exact causes of the explosion and the extent of damage to the residential premises. Rescue workers urge citizens to strictly follow the rules for operating gas equipment, especially given the frequent power outages.

A gas explosion also occurred in a residential building in Lviv, resulting in casualties.

As a reminder, a gas explosion occurred in a high-rise building in Khmelnytskyi. During rescue operations, the bodies of two people were found—a woman born in 1973 and a man born in 1983. Both lived in the building, which sustained significant damage.
