Part of an old garment factory collapsed in the Odesa region
In the city of Balta, in the Odesa region, part of a private garment factory that had been out of operation for a long time collapsed. According to preliminary reports, no one was injured in the collapse. Rescue workers, police, and municipal services are on the scene. Serhiy Mazur, the mayor of Balta, reported the emergency. According to him, part of the private garment factory building suddenly collapsed. The facility had long since ceased operations and was no longer being used for its intended purpose. “Dear residents of our community! Today, an emergency occurred in our city—part of a private garment factory building, which has not been in operation for a long time, collapsed,” the mayor said.
The causes of the collapse are still unknown. Experts will assess the condition of the structure and determine what could have led to the collapse. After receiving reports of the incident, representatives of the State Emergency Service, the police, and municipal services were dispatched to the site.
