A fatal accident occurred at a cemetery near Ternopil on June 15—a man fell from a tractor bucket and died at the scene. According to preliminary reports, he struck his head on the pavement after the fall.
A man died at the Ternopil city cemetery near the village of Dovzhanka after falling from the bucket of a JCB tractor. Investigators are determining the circumstances of the accident, the Ternopil Regional Police reported on Monday, June 15.
Investigators determined that the deceased, a 63-year-old resident of Ternopil, fell from the tractor’s bucket and struck his head on the pavement and concrete structures. Emergency medical personnel were called to the scene, but they were unable to save his life.
The tractor was traveling along one of the cemetery’s alleys between graves and was being driven by a resident of Ternopil. Blood samples were taken from the driver to determine if he was under the influence of alcohol. A criminal case was opened regarding the accident under Part 2 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of traffic rules resulting in death). The article provides for up to 8 years of imprisonment. The investigation is currently ongoing, police said.
Earlier in Kryvyi Rih, a company employee died at a depth of 210 meters.
