Since February, Ukrainian forces have liberated more than 480 square kilometers from Russian forces — Syrskyi

Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine General Oleksandr Syrskyi reported significant successes by the Defense Forces in liberating Ukrainian territories over the past few months.

Despite the difficult situation on the front lines, Ukrainian defenders continue to mount an active defense and push back the enemy in strategic areas.

According to the Commander-in-Chief, the momentum of territorial liberation remains positive.

“In March, our units liberated nearly 50 square kilometers of territory, and since early February—over 480 square kilometers,” the general emphasized during an official briefing.

Oleksandr Syrskyi disclosed this information during a telephone conversation with the Chief of the British Defence Staff, Sir Richard Naughton.

The general provided his British counterpart with a detailed briefing on the current operational situation in the areas where the most intense fighting is taking place.

The Ukrainian side expressed deep gratitude to King Charles III, the government, and the entire British people for their comprehensive support.

Sirsky separately noted London’s role in supplying high-tech equipment and ammunition, as well as Britain’s leadership in key defense coalitions.

Particular emphasis was placed on the activities of the “Maritime Coalition” and the “Drone Coalition,” which significantly enhance the capabilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The general noted that modern technologies and smart solutions are the foundation for effectively countering the numerical superiority of the Russian invaders.

The Commander-in-Chief also outlined priority tasks for the Ukrainian military for the immediate future.

These include wearing down the enemy, curbing its offensive potential, and striking deep into the rear areas of the Russian Federation.

“Our goal is to make every step the enemy takes as costly as possible by effectively combining smart solutions and modern technology,” emphasized Oleksandr Syrskyi.

He added that protecting the airspace remains critically important for saving the lives of civilians and military personnel.

Russian troops have not abandoned their plans to advance and intend to capture not only the Donbas but the entire territory of Ukraine.

Syrskyi decided to reinforce Ukrainian Armed Forces units in the Pokrovsk direction
