Syrsky decided to reinforce Ukrainian Armed Forces units in the Pokrovsk direction
During a working visit to the Pokrovsk sector, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi held meetings with unit commanders and discussed the operational situation on the section of the front where Russian troops have carried out 688 attacks since early April.
Oleksandr Syrskyi reported this on Telegram.
Syrskyi noted that during the trip, he met with the leadership of the offensive group and discussed the execution of combat missions and further plans for active operations.
“During my latest working trip, I met with the leadership of our offensive group. Together with Major General Oleg Apostol, we discussed the operational situation, the fulfillment of assigned tasks, and plans for further active operations,” he said.
According to the Commander-in-Chief, he also visited the headquarters of units in the Pokrovsk direction, where the most intense combat operations are currently taking place.

“Since early April, a total of 688 enemy attacks have been recorded here,” Syrskyi noted.
He added that he listened to reports from commanders regarding the units’ needs and proposals for improving the effectiveness of the defense, after which he made a decision to provide additional support to Ukrainian troops.
Separately, Syrskyi visited the Unmanned Systems Forces group, where he discussed the use of drones in modern combat conditions.

“When the enemy is regrouping and bringing in reserves, the role of UAS in striking the occupiers becomes even more critical,” he emphasized.
The Commander-in-Chief thanked the Ukrainian military for their service and effective combat operations.
Russian troops have not abandoned their plans to advance and intend to capture not only the Donbas but the entire territory of Ukraine. At the same time, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to systematically undermine the enemy’s ability to wage war.
Total combat losses of Russian troops since the start of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, as of April 22, 2026, amount to approximately 1,321,450 personnel. In the past 24 hours alone, losses totaled another 1,140 soldiers.
Over the past 24 hours, 194 combat engagements took place on the front lines. The Russian army concentrated most of its attacks on the Pokrovsk and Kostiantynivka sectors. The occupiers are actively using aircraft, drones, and artillery.
