Russia has lost more than a thousand soldiers and 38 artillery systems in the war against Ukraine
As of April 22, 2026, the total combat losses of Russian forces since the start of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine amount to approximately 1,321,450 personnel. Over the past 24 hours alone, another 1,140 soldiers were lost.
This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook.
In addition to manpower, the Russian army has suffered significant losses in equipment:
- tanks — 11,885 (+1 in the past 24 hours);
- armored combat vehicles — 24,436 (+7);
- artillery systems — 40,516 (+38);
- multiple launch rocket systems — 1,749 (+0);
- air defense systems — 1,350 (+0);
- aircraft — 435 (+0);
- helicopters — 350 (+0);
- tactical-level unmanned aerial vehicles — 251,489 (+1,026);
- cruise missiles — 4,549 (+0);
- ships and boats — 33 (+0);
- submarines — 2 (+0);
- vehicles and tankers — 90,925 (+162);
- special equipment — 4,132 (+0).
The General Staff notes that the tally of losses is ongoing, and the data is being refined.
Over the past 24 hours, 194 combat engagements took place on the front lines. The Russian army concentrated most of its attacks on the Pokrovsk and Kostiantynivka sectors. The occupiers are actively using aircraft, drones, and artillery. P
