A Russian general was secretly buried in Moscow

Amid heightened security measures, the funeral of an unnamed top Russian general took place at the Troekurovsky Cemetery in Moscow. He may have been killed during a recent explosion at the name day celebration of Alexander Chaika, Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Aerospace Forces. 

From early morning, the area was patrolled by FSO officers, Rosgvardia personnel, and plainclothes security forces: vehicles were inspected, visitors were screened with metal detectors, and the adjacent parking lot was completely cordoned off. The procession was accompanied by an honor guard carrying the Aerospace Forces flag, although the Army flag was displayed at the grave itself.

According to eyewitnesses, the person buried may have been a major general who was a friend of Air Force Commander Alexander Chaika. According to one account, he had arrived for Chaika’s 55th birthday celebration and was in the restaurant at the exact moment of the explosion. There is currently no official confirmation of the deceased’s identity from the Russian authorities.

Among those killed in the explosion at the Balzi Rossi restaurant in central Moscow on August 1 was Danylo Peredriy—the son-in-law of Alexander Chaika, Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Aerospace Forces.

Maria Chaika, the daughter of Alexander Chaika, an army general of the aggressor state Russia, may also have been injured. This was reported by the Russian publication “Verstka,” citing a source close to the restaurant’s management.
