In the Netherlands, children found a World War II-era hand grenade
In the Dutch town of Wught, children attending an after-school program found a hand grenade dating back to World War II.
The children, who were at an after-school program, spotted the grenade on a grassy area near the facility and immediately reported the find to staff members.
The center’s staff called the police, after which the dangerous area was cordoned off. The area remained cordoned off until the explosive device was removed by specialists.
Representatives of the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Unit of the Dutch Ministry of Defense arrived at the scene. They retrieved the grenade and transported it to a designated open area.
There, the explosive device was safely neutralized.
