Poland stated that Ukraine had postponed the meeting between Zelenskyy and Navrotsky

Marcin Przydacz, head of the Polish President’s Office for International Policy, stated that the Ukrainian side had declined the planned talks between President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Poland’s newly elected President Karol Nawrocki.

According to Przydacz, following the Ukrainian delegation’s visit to Warsaw on June 6, the Polish side proposed a phone call between Zelenskyy and Nawrocki. However, the Polish official claims that the Ukrainian president did not agree to this format of communication.

After that, he said, a face-to-face meeting in Warsaw was proposed, for which a specific date and time were set. However, the Ukrainian side allegedly declined this visit and proposed postponing the talks to a later date.

Pszydach stated that Kyiv was allegedly not interested in holding a substantive discussion with Navrotsky, particularly regarding historical issues related to the OUN and the UPA.

Earlier, a public debate arose between Kyiv and Warsaw following criticism from Karol Nawrocki regarding the decision to name one of the Special Operations Forces (SSO) units after UPA heroes.

On June 20, former Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko also announced that he was renouncing the Polish state order, emphasizing that this step was not directed against the Polish people; at the same time, he also made critical remarks about incumbent President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Earlier, Zelenskyy had sent Navrotsky the Order of the White Eagle via Nova Poshta.

Following this, Leonid Kuchma declined the Polish Order of the White Eagle.

Ukraine’s third president, Viktor Yushchenko, also declined the Polish Order of the White Eagle.

In addition, Borys Tarasyuk will return his Polish order due to Navrotsky’s policies.
