Russia announced plans to expand the M-3 "Ukraine" federal highway to six lanes
Russian Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin reported to Vladimir Putin that in 2026, the M-3 “Ukraine” federal highway will be expanded to six lanes. According to him, the roadwork is being carried out using extra-budgetary funding.
The M-3 “Ukraine” highway runs from Moscow to the Ukrainian border, passing through the Moscow, Kaluga, Bryansk, and Kursk regions. On Ukrainian territory, it becomes the M-02 highway heading toward Kyiv.
The “Troebortne” border crossing, where this highway crosses the border, is currently located in an active combat zone. According to available information, Russian occupation forces are attempting to advance toward this highway, and the section of the road near the border is directly affected by the fighting.
Earlier, the Kremlin responded to threats by a war veteran to stage a revolt against Putin.
Peskov stated that Trump did not call Putin after the talks in Ankara.
