A large drone without explosives was found in the Romanian county of Maramureș, in the northwestern part of the country. The drone was discovered in an area near the border, after which the relevant authorities arrived on the scene to investigate the circumstances of the incident.

News of the discovery near the village of Besești emerged as reports of a Russian drone crashing into an apartment building in Galați dominated Romanian news headlines.
It is reported that the drone found does not carry an explosive payload. The unmanned aerial vehicle is large, with a wingspan of about 3 meters, according to the community leader.
The area where it was found has been cordoned off, and the case is being handled by the prosecutor’s office at the Court of Appeals in Cluj. They are determining the origin of the aircraft and the circumstances under which it ended up in this area.
