(Video) In Kyiv, a building of the Institute of Postgraduate Education has fallen into ruin due to neglect
Community activists have posted a video of the buildings of the Institute of Postgraduate Education at the Boris Grinchenko Kyiv Metropolitan University, located at 17 Tychyna Street. Following a decision by the Kyiv City State Administration’s Department of Education and Science, the building was handed over to a contractor for renovation in 2019. The renovation was supposed to be completed in 2020. Currently, only ruins remain, and the buildings continue to deteriorate.
This was reported by Oleksiy Ksenich, head of the NGO “Gray Building.”
Community activists visited the ruins of the facility and noted the building’s current state of neglect.

Prior to the so-called renovation, the institute operated in its premises, which looked like this:

“For seven years now, the institute where Kyiv’s teachers are supposed to receive professional development has looked neglected. The person responsible for overseeing this work was Valentin Mondriyevsky, the deputy mayor of Kyiv in charge of this area,” Oleksiy Ksenich says in the video.
As a reminder, a petition has been filed calling for the dismissal of Olena Fidanyan, director of the Department of Education and Science of the Kyiv City State Administration. The initiative concerns the need for changes in approaches to managing the capital’s education system.
In Kyiv, a former official from the Desnianskyi District Education Department will stand trial, accused of embezzling budget funds during the procurement of electricity for schools and kindergartens. The amount of losses totals nearly 1.9 million hryvnias.
