Video: The "Yastrub" anti-drone police unit has begun operations in Nikopol
A combined anti-drone unit from the "Yastrub" Special Police Battalion has begun operations in Nikopol and the surrounding area.
This was reported by the National Police.
The unit’s main tasks include protecting civilian infrastructure, ensuring public safety, and providing support to utility and emergency services during the cleanup of shelling damage.
The unit consists of local police officers as well as officers with combat experience—precinct officers, investigators, and operatives.
Law enforcement officers constantly monitor the airspace and detect drones visually, by sound, or using technical equipment.
Once targets are detected, they are neutralized using electronic warfare equipment or small arms.
The unit operates in coordination with other services, and its positions are regularly rotated.
The National Police emphasize that every drone shot down means lives of civilians saved.
