Ford has reportedly shown dealers a prototype of a four-door Mustang, which was previously referred to internally as the Mach-4. Motor1 reports this, citing sources at Automotive News. It is currently unknown when this model might go on sale.
According to Motor1, the prototype was shown to dealers last week. People who saw the car compared its appearance to that of the Porsche Panamera. Ford also reportedly told dealers that the starting price for the four-door Mustang will be less than $40,000.
According to sources, the new model will offer more legroom for second-row passengers than the Panamera and will be able to accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour—approximately 96.6 km/h—in less than four seconds. Ford executives already used the name Mach-4 during a closed-door meeting with dealers two years ago, according to Motor1.

During that same presentation, dealers were reportedly shown another new Ford crossover with gasoline and hybrid powertrains. According to Motor1, its starting price could be around $25,000, and it is not expected to hit the market before 2029. Sources at Automotive News described this prototype as boxy and wide, though Ford executives stated that the final design has not yet been approved.
In addition, Ford showed dealers the new Fathom model—the first vehicle built on the Universal EV platform. According to Motor1, company executives announced plans to release a total of five models based on this architecture. Among the possible vehicle types, Ford mentioned crossovers, sedans, and vans.
