Genesis G70 may lose V6 for the 2027 model year — Motor1
The sporty Genesis G70 sedan will likely no longer be offered with the 3.3-liter twin-turbo gasoline V6 for the 2027 model year. The government website FuelEconomy.gov lists fuel economy figures for the G70 only for the four-cylinder version, Motor1 reports.
At the same time, Genesis has not officially confirmed the discontinuation of the V6 version. Motor1 reported that it contacted the automaker for comment and confirmation of this information.
V6 specifications
The 3.3-liter twin-turbo V6 was an optional performance engine for the Genesis G70. It produces 365 horsepower and 376 lb-ft of torque. The unit is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission, and the sedan with it was offered with rear-wheel or all-wheel drive.

Which engine is listed for 2027
If the V6 version is indeed removed from the lineup, the G70 will retain the 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine for the 2027 model year. It produces 300 horsepower and 311 lb-ft of torque. This engine also works with an eight-speed automatic transmission.
Last year, rumors emerged that Genesis would produce the G70 through 2027 and did not plan to prepare a successor to the model. The automaker denied those reports. According to more recent rumors, the company may give the sedan a second facelift.
The Genesis G70, which shares a platform with the discontinued Kia Stinger, debuted in North America as a 2019 model. In the United States, the sedan received a mid-cycle update in 2022.
