Championship standings
Solberg said he was pleased with his current lead and would do everything possible on Sunday. If the current order in the rally standings remains unchanged, Evans' championship lead will increase to at least 27 points.
Thierry Neuville was unable to continue: on the first special stage on Saturday, his Hyundai rolled over and sustained damage that was too severe. The Belgian said he had been trying to make up positions aggressively but underestimated a compression on the track.
