Tesla announces presentation of second-generation Roadster on October 1
Tesla has announced that it plans to present the second-generation Roadster on October 1. The company posted the message “Go for launch” on social network X alongside a graphic showing the date “10.01,” TechCrunch reports.
A hint at cold-gas thrusters
According to TechCrunch, Tesla’s graphic may also hint at cold-gas thrusters previously promised for the sports car. These optional thrusters are being developed by SpaceX, another major company of Tesla CEO Elon Musk. They were expected to give the Roadster the ability to fly in some way.

The project has been delayed since 2017
Tesla’s second-generation sports car was first announced in November 2017, after which its presentation was postponed repeatedly. Last year, the Roadster became the subject of a social media dispute between Musk and OpenAI CEO Sam Altman.
Altman wrote that waiting 7.5 years after paying $50,000 for a reservation was too long. Musk, for his part, insisted that Altman had received a refund. The Information previously reported that the 2017 version of the car had been completely abandoned in favor of a new design that has not yet been presented. Musk also acknowledged that production would not begin for another 12–18 months after the Roadster’s presentation.
