Hyundai unveils sketches of new compact Bayon SUV for India
Hyundai Motor India has unveiled three sketches of the upcoming compact Bayon SUV in India. The automaker showed the model’s exterior and interior, but has not yet disclosed technical specifications or official launch plans.
Exterior design
As Korea Herald reports, the sketches demonstrate the evolution of Hyundai’s Art of Steel design concept. The company describes it as a combination of expressive body surfaces, sharp character lines and architectural forms.
At the front, the Bayon features a sculpted hood, pronounced fenders and the H-Edge lighting signature. Hyundai said the combination of lighting elements and the substantial design of the lower body is intended to give the vehicle a more distinctive SUV appearance.

Interior and further plans
The interior sketch shows a cabin focused on technology, connectivity and intuitive controls. The manufacturer describes it as a comfortable space with premium features for buyers who actively use digital technologies.
Simon Loasby, senior vice president and head of Hyundai Design Center, said the company sought to create a vehicle for modern urban lifestyles that combines technology and thoughtful design. Hyundai is expected to release additional details about the Bayon, including specifications and launch plans, by the end of the year.
The first-generation Bayon debuted in Europe in 2021 as a crossover. Industry observers predict that the Indian version will become the model’s second generation and is likely to enter the European market in 2027.
