Volkswagen ID. Polo has ten-month waiting lists

In Europe, the electric Volkswagen ID. Polo, which went on sale in April, has more than 30,000 orders and an approximate ten-month waiting period. As InsideEVs reports, the model is effectively sold out, while Volkswagen Group’s new range of affordable compact electric vehicles is in high demand.

Orders for Skoda and Cupra

The technically related Skoda Epiq has received more than 35,000 orders since applications opened in July. For new orders, delivery times for this model may extend to June 2027. Multi-month waiting lists have also formed for the Cupra Raval, which InsideEVs calls the sportiest model in this lineup.

There is also demand for the electric Volkswagen ID. Cross crossover, although the first vehicles of this model are expected at dealerships in November, according to the publication. The Volkswagen ID. Polo GTI is also expected to appear in the lineup later.

Prices and production

Base versions of the models cost approximately from €25,000 in Germany, including VAT. All of them provide at least 200 miles of range on a single charge under the WLTP cycle and support the vehicle-to-load function. It makes it possible to power household appliances, tools, or camping equipment from the traction battery.

Due to the high volume of orders, Volkswagen, Skoda, and Cupra warned buyers of potentially longer waiting times for certain trim levels. Volkswagen and Cupra are working to increase output at the plant in Martorell, Spain, where the ID. Polo and Raval are assembled. Skoda, which produces the Epiq in Pamplona, is also looking for ways to increase production and reduce delivery times.
