Geely unveils EX2 Street and Track drift concepts in Brazil

Geely unveiled two concept electric vehicles based on the compact EX2 hatchback — the EX2 Street and EX2 Track — at the Festival Interlagos in Brazil. They are intended to demonstrate the possibilities of sporty driving and electric car tuning, InsideEVs reports.

Road version

The EX2 Street is a version closer to the production car. The concept received lowered suspension and 17-inch wheels. In the cabin, synthetic leather was replaced with genuine leather, while the light headliner was replaced with dark Alcantara.

The Geely EX2 is a compact electric hatchback, roughly comparable in size to the Honda Fit. In Brazil, the model's starting price is about $24,000, making it one of the most affordable new electric vehicles on the local market.

Track version

The EX2 Track features aggressive body graphics, lowered suspension and indigo-colored wheels. The space behind the front seats was cleared and fitted with a roll cage, while the front seats were equipped with five-point safety belts.

To make drifting easier, the car also received a hydraulic parking brake with a long lever. The powertrain was not changed: the concept retained a 114-horsepower electric motor and a 40 kWh battery. Geely says that chassis stability and suspension tuning make the EX2 Track more suitable for the track.

The company does not plan to put the EX2 Street and EX2 Track into production. According to InsideEVs, rear-wheel drive, independent suspension and disc brakes on all wheels provide the EX2 with a technical basis for sporty modifications.
