Stellantis postpones Jeep Wagoneer EREV production launch until November — InsideEVs
Stellantis has postponed the start of Jeep Wagoneer EREV production from May to November. InsideEVs reports, citing Automotive News and a memorandum sent to suppliers.
Changes to the production schedule
According to Automotive News, Jeep Wagoneer EREV production is now set to begin in November, six months later than previously planned. Meanwhile, production of the Ram 1500 REV is scheduled for April next year, later than the previous target of mid-2026.
A Stellantis representative told Automotive News that both models remain on the company's schedule: Jeep for this year and Ram for 2027. The publication also reported that the delay is related to powertrain issues.

Electric vehicles with a gasoline generator
Two executives from supplier companies involved in the program told Automotive News that the postponed timeline is intended to ensure a smooth launch of the new powertrain. The Jeep Wagoneer EREV and Ram 1500 REV are expected to use a shared setup with a 400-volt battery and electric motors that propel the vehicle.
The system will also include a V6 engine and a fuel tank: the gasoline engine will operate as an electricity generator and will have no direct mechanical connection to the wheels. This design is intended to increase range after the battery is depleted and while towing.
Ram unveiled the electric and EREV versions of the 1500 pickup in 2023 and initially planned to bring them to market by 2024. The company canceled the fully electric version of the Ram 1500 last year, focusing on EREV models.
