Jensen unveils 960-hp Interceptor GTX track prototype — Motor1
British company Jensen has unveiled the Interceptor GTX track prototype, intended to demonstrate the direction of the brand’s future road-car lineup. The model is equipped with a supercharged 6.8-liter General Motors V8 that produces 960 hp in its standard configuration. According to Motor1, the car is not currently available for purchase and will undergo further testing.
Reworked engine and sequential transmission
The GTX uses a GM engine comprehensively reworked by Late Model Engine in Texas. Jensen says that after the upgrade, less than 20% of the components remain from the original unit. The engine received CNC-machined cylinder heads, titanium valves, a fully forged rotating assembly, and a MoTeC engine management system.
The company notes that the powertrain’s output can reach 1,200 hp, while torque can exceed 1,100 lb-ft. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a rear-mounted six-speed Samsonas Motorsport sequential transmission. It uses straight-cut dog gears, while the engine and transmission are connected by a carbon-fiber driveshaft.

Chassis, aerodynamics, and road versions
The Interceptor GTX is built on an aluminum chassis developed together with Avant Design. The car has double-wishbone suspension at the front and rear, Nitron dampers with three-way adjustment, AP Racing brakes with floating steel discs, and 20-inch forged aluminum wheels fitted with Michelin Pilot Sport tires.
According to Jensen, around 80% of the GTX’s exterior design will carry over to future road models. The adjustable rear wing can generate up to 771 pounds of downforce; the car also features a front splitter, a flat floor, an integrated rear diffuser, and exposed aerodynamic elements.
The cabin is equipped with a bespoke FIA safety cage, Tillett carbon racing seats with six-point harnesses, a fire extinguisher, and a MoTeC display. Jensen plans to develop the road-going Interceptor GTR and the more luxurious Interceptor GT in the future. These versions are expected to have either a manual transmission with an H-pattern shift layout or a fully automatic transmission.
