There is no alternative to cutting down trees in Teremky for the construction of the heating network — Kyiv City State Administration
The construction of a new heating network beneath Teremkivska Street in Kyiv’s Holosiivskyi District is currently technically impossible, so the city was forced to consider the option of cutting down trees.
This was announced by Petro Panteleev, acting first deputy head of the Kyiv City State Administration.
According to him, as early as 2023, experts studied the possibility of laying a heating network under Teremkivska Street; however, the large number of existing utility lines—sewer, water, and power lines—makes it impossible to implement this option.
Panteleev noted that there is currently no other utility corridor available for the project, and no alternative design documentation has been developed.
At the same time, the Kyiv City State Administration reported that work on the site has been temporarily suspended to consult with local residents and find a solution that will allow the city to prepare for the heating season while preserving as much green space as possible.
