A delegation from the United States and Red Cross officials visited Lukyanivka, which had been hit by shelling

An official delegation from the United States government, together with the leadership of the Ukrainian Red Cross Society (URCS) and the head of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SES), Andriy Danik, visited a site in Kyiv near the Lukyanivska metro station. This area had previously suffered extensive damage as a result of one of the massive Russian missile and drone strikes. 

During the visit, representatives of the Ukrainian Red Cross, led by Deputy Director General Illia Kletkovsky, provided their American partners with a detailed overview of the current mechanisms for humanitarian response to the consequences of enemy attacks. In particular, the foreign diplomats were shown how rapid-response teams operate, the procedures for coordinating them and their direct interaction with State Emergency Service units, as well as comprehensive support programs for affected citizens.

The U.S. delegation included Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Spencer Cretien, U.S. Embassy in Ukraine Aid Program Coordinator Jeffrey Zhuk, his deputy Emily Krunic, and other relevant representatives of the diplomatic mission. Financial and technical support from the U.S. government enables the Ukrainian Red Cross Society to significantly expand its material and technical resources, ensure the prompt delivery of specialized equipment to Kyiv and frontline regions, and to promptly address the consequences of daily shelling of civilian infrastructure.

The Kyiv City State Administration provided an update on the future of the Lukyanivsky Market.

The owner of the Lukyanivsky Market in Kyiv, which was damaged during a Russian attack in May, has not yet made a decision regarding its full-scale reconstruction.
