The Kyiv City State Administration has announced what will happen to the Lukyanivsky Market

The owner of the Lukyanivsky Market, which was damaged during the Russian attack on Kyiv in May, has not yet informed city authorities of any plans to restore the facility. Cleanup work is currently underway on the site. Meanwhile, the Kyiv City State Administration is exploring ways to assist business owners who have lost their trading spaces.

The Kyiv City State Administration stated that it has not yet received any information from the owner of the Lukyanivsky Market regarding the possible restoration of the facility. The market sustained serious damage during the Russian attack on the capital on the night of May 24.

The Lukyanivsky Market, located at 1 Yuri Illenko Street, is privately owned. Its owner is Kvitkova Halyavina LLC. The company is currently preparing the necessary documents to help assess the extent of the damage. Other procedures related to the aftermath of the shelling are also underway.

Despite this, the market administration has already begun clearing the area. This work is necessary to resume commercial activities in the future. “The Kyiv City Council and its agencies have not received any information regarding the owner’s intentions to restore the facility,” the mayor’s response states.

The Kyiv City State Administration notes that special attention is being paid to supporting entrepreneurs who worked at the market and lost their jobs due to the shelling. To this end, city authorities held talks with representatives of 23 shopping centers in Kyiv. They discussed the possibility of offering preferential terms for setting up retail spaces for entrepreneurs affected by the attack.

In addition, vendors were offered alternative options to continue their work. Specifically, they can obtain trading spaces on the premises of the municipal enterprises “Zhitnyi Market” and “Volodymyr Market.” Entrepreneurs can also participate in city fairs.

Thus, the issue of restoring the Lukyanivsky Market remains unresolved for now. The final decision will depend on the market’s owner, who is currently processing paperwork and assessing the damage caused by the Russian strike. This is stated in Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko’s response to a petition regarding the market’s future.

The owner of Kyiv’s Lukyanivsky Market, which was damaged during a Russian attack in May, has not yet made a decision regarding its full-scale reconstruction.

As a reminder, Russia attacked the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, causing a fire.

Prior to that, Russian missiles struck the Zaporizhzhia region, leaving several people injured.

As a result of the Russian attack on Kharkiv, five State Emergency Service rescuers were killed.
