He beat his neighbor to death: a Kyiv resident was sentenced to 8.5 years in prison
The Dnipro District Court of Kyiv sentenced a 47-year-old man to 8 years and 6 months in prison for fatally beating his 75-year-old neighbor in Bereznyaky.
The tragedy occurred in March 2026. While heavily intoxicated, the man provoked a conflict with the elderly woman. The pensioner tried to avoid the argument and walked away, but the attacker caught up with her, knocked her to the ground, and kicked her several times in the head and body.
The victim was hospitalized with a severe traumatic brain injury, a brain contusion, and a fracture of the skull base. Despite the doctors’ efforts, the woman died in the hospital.
The court found the man guilty of intentional grievous bodily injury resulting in the victim’s death. The defendant will remain in custody until the verdict becomes final.
