The death toll from the strike on Kyiv has risen to 24

In Kyiv, following a massive Russian strike, the death toll has risen to 24 people, including three children, while another 20 are still missing as rescue workers continue to clear the rubble in the Darnytskyi district. This was reported by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.

A search and rescue operation is ongoing in the capital following the nighttime attack on May 14, which effectively destroyed part of a residential building in the Darnytskyi district and turned an ordinary courtyard into a zone where rescuers have been clearing concrete and metal for hours in search of people who may have been trapped under the rubble.

According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, as of the morning of May 15, the death toll has risen to 24, including three children, and another 20 people are still officially listed as missing, which only heightens the tension with every passing hour of the rescuers’ work.

The attack, according to estimates by the Air Force, was one of the largest since the start of the full-scale war: between May 13 and 14, Russia deployed 1,567 drones and 56 missiles, with 56 missiles and 675 drones targeting Kyiv, though a significant portion of the aerial threats were successfully shot down.

Authorities emphasize that the scale of the strike was unprecedented in terms of the number of weapons used, and despite the high performance of the air defense systems, damage to civilian infrastructure was recorded in the city and the region.

Rescue workers have already removed over 3,180 cubic meters of debris, K-9 units have searched approximately 2,800 square meters of the area, and psychologists have provided assistance to nearly 400 people who have experienced loss, shock, or are awaiting news about their loved ones.

The death toll from the Russian strike on Kyiv has risen again and currently stands at 16 people, including two children. Rescue workers continue to work at the scene of the tragedy, clearing debris and searching for people.

Russia cynically called the massive attack on Ukraine a “retaliatory strike”

Due to the Russian attack in the Lviv region, over 21,000 customers were left without power

As a reminder, overnight, the Air Defense Forces managed to neutralize 693 aerial targets, including 41 missiles and 652 unmanned aerial vehicles of various types.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Russia’s massive attack on Ukraine is not accidental. In this way, Russian leader Vladimir Putin is attempting to divert the world’s attention from international events, particularly U.S. President Donald Trump’s visit to China.
