The Kyiv City Council is reviewing land issues under new rules

Today, March 26, the Kyiv City Council is scheduled to consider a comprehensive set of land-use decisions.

This is the first time such issues have been addressed since the adoption of the new Rules for Allocating Land Plots in Kyiv.

Speaking before the start of the meeting, Mayor Vitali Klitschko emphasized the strategic importance of today’s agenda for the capital’s energy security.

The deputies’ priority areas of focus are securing land for critical infrastructure facilities, specifically for Kyivteploenergo and DTEK.

In addition to the energy sector, significant attention will be paid to environmental issues. This involves the official allocation of land plots for Kyivzelenbud, which will allow for the proper maintenance and renovation of the capital’s parks and public squares.

Vitali Klitschko paid special attention to the widely discussed reports regarding potential construction in the city’s historic districts.

In recent days, rumors have been actively circulating in the media about the construction of a parking garage directly on Peizazhna Alley.

The mayor called these reports manipulative and urged Kyiv residents to trust only official sources of information, not “posts by dubious individuals.”

“There has been speculation that a parking garage or something else is being built on Peizazhna Alley. This is not true,” the mayor emphasized, rejecting any accusations of encroaching on the protected area.

Authorities assure that all decisions are made in compliance with urban planning regulations and are aimed at developing urban infrastructure without harming cultural heritage.

As a reminder, the Kyiv City Council approved the removal and modification of 15 objects bearing Soviet and Russian symbols.

Additionally, the prosecutor’s office is demanding through the courts that the Kyiv City Council grant protected status to the capital’s natural areas.
