Kyiv prosecutors have uncovered the embezzlement of 1.2 million hryvnias from the Hydropark renovation project
The Dnipro District Prosecutor’s Office in Kyiv has filed an indictment against the deputy head of the department and the cost estimator of the Kyivzelenbud municipal enterprise.
The officials of the municipal enterprise are accused of causing losses to the city budget totaling over 1.2 million hryvnias during renovation work.
The investigation gathered irrefutable evidence of financial fraud during the restoration of a well-known Kyiv recreational area.
Law enforcement officials established that in October 2024, the municipal association signed an official contract with a private company for the major renovation of the capital’s “Hydropark.”
However, the suspects, having previously colluded, included significantly inflated costs for construction materials in the cost estimate documentation.
As a result of these coordinated actions, “Kyivzelenbud” unjustifiably overpaid a large sum of money for the work performed, causing losses to the city budget of over 1.2 million hryvnias.
This was reported by the Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office.
