A drone exploded near a man in Kharkiv

In Kharkiv, one of the victims of the Russian attack was left in extremely critical condition after approaching a crashed drone. According to police, the drone exploded just as the man approached it.

Another injured person is in the hospital in moderate condition. Doctors continue to fight for the injured man’s life.

In Kharkiv, two people remain in the hospital following this morning’s Russian attack. One of the victims is in critical condition after a drone that had crashed to the ground exploded. According to Anna Gontar, two injured people are currently in medical facilities. “Following the morning shelling, a 51-year-old man in moderate condition and a 30-year-old man with an explosive injury are in the hospital; he is in extremely critical condition,” Gontar said.

As it turned out, the man sustained his severe injuries after the Russian drone had already crashed. According to police, the incident occurred on Lva Landau Avenue in the Slobidska district of Kharkiv. The 30-year-old man saw the drone, which had fallen after the attack, and decided to get closer.

It was at that very moment that the explosion occurred. Police reported that the man approached the UAV to look at it, after which the detonation took place. The injuries he sustained were extremely severe. The victim was rushed to the hospital, and doctors are currently fighting to save his life. Experts are once again reminding the public: even if a drone or its debris appears to be harmless, it can pose a deadly danger.

After crashing, drones often remain equipped with explosive components or may detonate with a delay. That is why law enforcement and rescue workers are urging people not to approach such objects and to immediately report them to emergency services. It is especially dangerous to touch the debris, photograph it up close, or attempt to move it on your own.

The police emphasize that any suspicious objects following shelling must be inspected exclusively by bomb disposal experts. Russian attacks on Kharkiv have been occurring almost daily recently. Because of this, city residents are once again being asked to exercise the utmost caution not only during air raid alerts but also after the strikes have ended.

Experts remind people of a simple rule: if you see a drone or its debris after an attack—do not approach it and do not try to get a closer look. One careless step could cost you your life. This was reported by Anna Gontar, spokesperson for the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration.

The Kyiv City Military Administration stated that the issue of using tents in the capital’s metro during air raid alerts requires separate discussion, and the introduction of certain restrictions cannot be ruled out in the future.

On the night of June 2, during another massive shelling of the capital, more than 41,000 people were in the underground stations of the Kyiv Metro, including nearly 4,500 children. This figure is the highest in recent years.

During today’s massive shelling, the Russian Federation fired eight Zircon hypersonic missiles at Ukrainian territory.

Poland scrambled its combat aircraft in response to Russia’s large-scale air attack on Ukraine.

Russia attacked Kharkiv and the surrounding region overnight; there are casualties.
