The prosecutor's office is seeking a court order to halt construction on the foundations of the Razumovsky Palace

The Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office will seek a court order to protect a unique historical landmark—the 18th-century foundations of Hetman Kirill Razumovsky’s Palace, located in Pechersk.

Prosecutors will seek to revoke the permit for the construction of an office complex, which threatens to completely destroy the archaeological site.

The court hearing is scheduled for Wednesday, June 3, at the Kyiv District Administrative Court.

The remains of the hetman’s palace and a structure belonging to the engineering services of the Kyiv Fortress from 1853 were discovered during construction work in 2024 at 3b and 3g Ivan Mazepa Street.

However, builders partially destroyed the historic site to make way for a commercial development. Law enforcement officials are currently attempting to halt further construction and preserve the capital’s cultural heritage.

This was reported by activist Dmytro Perov.
