A decline in air quality was recorded in two cities in the Kyiv region
In two towns in the Kyiv region—Ivankiv and Boryspil—air quality has temporarily deteriorated. This was confirmed by the results of round-the-clock monitoring.
According to the results of average daily observations from monitoring stations, the main pollutant—present in moderate concentrations—is fine particulate matter.
It may cause minor breathing discomfort, particularly in people who are sensitive to respiratory tract irritation.
At the same time, in other settlements in the Kyiv region where monitoring is conducted, no exceedances of permissible levels of chemical and biological substances were detected.
It is also reported that the level of gamma radiation in the region corresponds to natural background levels.
Experts recommend that residents of Ivankiv and Boryspil follow a few simple rules until the situation returns to normal:
- keep windows closed;
- limit prolonged exposure to the outdoors if possible;
- drink plenty of water;
- if you have an air purifier at home, use it at maximum capacity.
As of September 2, air quality monitoring is being conducted at 15 observation stations.
Measurements are being taken in Brovary, Bila Tserkva, Boryspil, Pereyaslav, Vyshhorod, Boyarka, Obukhiv, Kaharlyk, Bohuslav, Vasylkiv, Irpin, Vyshneve, as well as in the towns of Ivankiv and Velyka Dymerka and the village of Pidhirtsi in the Obukhiv District.
The air quality situation is being monitored around the clock, and residents are advised to follow further announcements from regional authorities.
