On the night of May 13–14, during a massive Russian attack on Kyiv, 12,500 people took shelter in the capital’s metro stations.

This was reported by the Kyiv Metro municipal enterprise.

The company reminded the public that 46 underground metro stations operate as shelters around the clock, and during air raid alerts, all station entrances are opened.

The metro also advised people to bring warm clothes, water, necessary medications, and hygiene supplies with them when spending the night in the shelters, and for pet owners to bring appropriate care supplies.

The municipal enterprise urged residents and visitors to the capital to be courteous and understanding toward metro employees who are ensuring the stations operate as shelters.

Russia cynically called the massive attack on Ukraine a “retaliatory strike”

Over 21,000 customers were left without power due to a Russian attack in the Lviv region

As a reminder, overnight, the Air Defense Forces managed to neutralize 693 aerial targets, including 41 missiles and 652 unmanned aerial vehicles of various types.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Russia’s massive attack on Ukraine is not accidental. In this way, Russian leader Vladimir Putin is attempting to divert the world’s attention from international events, particularly U.S. President Donald Trump’s visit to China.
