Half a hectare of grass burned down near the "Mir" recreation area in Kyiv

A large-scale fire involving dry grass and reeds near the "Mir" recreation area in Kyiv's Svyatoshynsky District has been extinguished.

This was reported by the State Emergency Service.

The fire covered an area of about 500 square meters.

According to rescue workers, the fire was caused by the irresponsibility of vacationers who lit a bonfire right among the trees, despite the presence of specially designated areas for this purpose.

The State Emergency Service emphasizes that even a small campfire or a cigarette butt can cause large-scale fires.

In the past 24 hours alone, 282 such fires were recorded in Ukraine, and since the beginning of the year—more than 5,700, which have destroyed over 2,600 hectares of natural areas.

A large-scale firein the Kyiv region engulfed warehouse facilities near the capital.

As a reminder, an oil refinery in Saratov has been burning for two days following a drone attack.
