An official from the "Kyiv" choir will stand trial for causing 1.9 million hryvnias in budget losses
The Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office has filed an indictment against the director of the Kyiv Municipal Academic Chamber Choir on charges of official negligence.
This was reported by the Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office.
For four years, the official failed to take measures to resolve the terms of an investment agreement regarding construction on Laboratorna Street. Due to the absence of a clause in the supplementary agreement regarding the investor’s payment of land rent, the municipal institution unjustifiably paid funds for a plot of land that was actually used by a private company.
As a result of the defendant’s actions, the capital’s budget suffered material damage amounting to nearly 1.9 million UAH. During the pre-trial investigation under Article 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, the investor voluntarily reimbursed 1.71 million UAH. Along with the indictment, prosecutors filed a civil lawsuit in court to recover the remaining unreimbursed damages. It has now been established that the manager should have amended the terms of the agreement so that the municipal enterprise would not pay for the lease of office space with parking instead of the private entity.
Earlier in Kyiv, two men were exposed for defrauding an American volunteer from the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine out of over 3.2 million hryvnias by promising to create "laser weapons" to destroy drones and missiles.
As a reminder, a member of parliament warned Ukrainians about scammers who are offering payments of 6,500 hryvnias.
