The cost of public transportation in Kyiv has reached 44 hryvnias: the Kyiv City State Administration has explained the situation regarding fares
In Kyiv, the estimated cost of a single trip on public transportation is about 44 hryvnias, but the fare increase has not yet been approved.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine.
The Kyiv City State Administration noted that the actual cost of travel on ground transportation has already reached 44 UAH, and on the metro, it is even higher. At the same time, there are currently no plans to set fares at this level.
A final decision on a possible increase will be made after economic calculations are completed, taking into account social factors.
If prices are revised, they will change simultaneously for all types of municipal transport.
At the same time, they promise to maintain discounts for certain categories of passengers.
City officials also noted that fares have not been adjusted since 2018, while transportation costs have risen significantly, and budget subsidies amount to approximately 12 billion UAH per year.
In the Ukrainian capital, public transport routes have been partially adjusted due to infrastructure damage caused by nighttime shelling.
To mark the 40th anniversary of the Chernobyl disaster, Kyiv authorities will provide a one-time targeted social payment to affected Kyiv residents and displaced persons who actually reside in the capital.
