In the Shevchenkivskyi district of Kyiv, a 40-year-old man threatened to cause an explosion in a high-rise building, stating his intention to release gas into an apartment.
This was reported by the Kyiv police.
The incident occurred on Ihor Turchyn Street. A call was received on the 102 emergency hotline from a man who stated his intention to blow up the building.
Law enforcement officers quickly arrived at the scene, evacuated the building’s residents, and shut off the gas supply to prevent a potential tragedy.
According to the police, the man locked himself in the apartment, threatened to harm himself, and claimed to have a grenade.
After negotiations with the police, he left the apartment. No explosive devices were found during a search of the apartment.
The man was taken to the police station. A criminal case has been opened under the article on hooliganism, and the issue of filing charges is being decided.
