Four plots of land belonging to Russian citizens were confiscated in Kyiv

The Obolon District Prosecutor's Office in Kyiv ensured the enforcement of court rulings regarding the compulsory seizure of land plots that belonged to Russian citizens.

This was reported by the press service of the Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office.

Prosecutors established that the owners, who held passports of the aggressor country, owned land designated for gardening and personal farming. Since the foreigners failed to comply with the legal requirement to dispose of agricultural land within one year of acquiring ownership, the prosecutor’s office filed lawsuits with the court seeking confiscation.

The courts fully granted the prosecutors’ requests, and as of today, the property rights of the Russian citizens have been officially terminated. The land plots have been transferred to state ownership, represented by the Main Directorate of the State Geocadastre in Kyiv and the Kyiv region. As long as Russia continues its military aggression, the Ukrainian law enforcement system is actively identifying and seizing assets of residents of the occupying state that were held in violation of the provisions of the Land Code of Ukraine. The seizure of the land took place within the framework of a legal mechanism that obliges foreign citizens to return agricultural plots to the state if they fail to meet the deadlines for their sale.

Previously, the appellate court overturned an illegal decision by the Bucha District Council, and the 3,000-hectare Bilychansky Forest was returned to the Kyiv community.

Additionally, after nearly five years of legal proceedings, a complex of historic buildings dating from 1830 to 1910, located in the historic part of Podil near Zamkova Hill, was returned to the Kyiv community.
